Here are the top five stories in Raleigh today:
- Friends of 41-year old bouncer Robert Richardson are growing worried after his disappearance on Wednesday. His last known location was Wade and Glenwood avenues, dealing with another driver in a fender bender. After the exchange, the two parted ways but Richardson left behind his two cell phones and laptop. Friends and family have not seen him since, and he did not show up to work on Thursday. (WRAL)
- Raleigh police received reports of a shooting at a Raleigh gas station around 4:16 on Tuesday morning. Officers arrived to the New Bern Avenue Shell gas station to find one victim who had been shot multiple times. The victim was taken to WakeMed with life threatening injuries. No suspect information has been released at this time. (abc11, CBS17, WRAL)
- Two individuals, including one police officer, were taken to a local hospital after a four vehicle crash at the intersection of New Hope and Rock Quarry roads on Monday. Officers were responding to a shooting call just before 6:25 p.m. when an officer and three other vehicles became involved in a crash. No one was injured in the initial shooting call and the officer and other individual injured reportedly only suffered minor injuries. (abc11, CBS17)
- On Monday night, Raleigh Police responded to a pedestrian crash on Rock Quarry Road and Jones Sausage Road. Police say a pedestrian was in the northbound lane when they were struck by a vehicle. The victim was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, and the driver stayed on scene to cooperate with investigators. (CBS17, WRAL)
- North Carolina officials are now predicting an additional in $4.24 billion tax collections compared to the projections used in creating the current two-year state budget. The increase is nearly 15% above what was anticipated, with an additional $2 billion more expected in the next fiscal year. The General Assembly session begins next week and budget-writers and Gov. Roy Cooper will use these figures when considering budget changes. (CBS17, WSPA)
