- North Carolina's statewide Booze It & Lose It campaign is underway ahead of Christmas travel. Law enforcement will be increasing patrols through January 2. Mark Ezzell, director of the North Carolina Governor's Highway Safety Program says revealers should make sure they have a sober ride home when celebrating this holiday season. (Spectrum News 1)
- On Tuesday night, former Vice President Mike Pence was in Raleigh speaking at a foreign policy lecture sponsored by the Jesse Helms Center. Pence shared his perspective on America's role in the world and touched on the withdrawal from Afghanistan and the war in Ukraine. During the audience Q&A, issues in America dominated the form. The first pre-screened question involved Pence's potential presidential run in 2024, although Pence did not confirm or deny himself as a possible candidate. (abc11, CBS17)
- A man was killed after being struck by a vehicle in Raleigh on Wednesday morning. The incident took place on the northbound side of Glenwood Avenue near Hollyridge Drive. The driver stayed at the scene. According to witnesses, the man was walking alongside the road close to traffic. One witness had to move her vehicle around him to avoid hitting him. (CBS17, WRAL)
- Jimmy Fleck, the owner of Roshambo Beverage Company, is speaking out after receiving a call no business owner wants. A bartender called to inform him that gunshots were fired into the establishment while customers were inside on Monday night. Flick is raising concerns over the incident, as patrons were present enjoying themselves when their safety was threatened due to an outside force. Raleigh police do not have anyone in custody for the incident. (WRAL)
- Raleigh's Helping Hand Mission is in need this season as the demand grows for aid in the area. The mission helps families with food, clothing and shelter but this time of year brings the added need of holiday presents. Families have continued to come in to sign up to be on the distribution list. As demand grows, the mission also is searching for help distributing and collecting presents for families. (abc11)
