  1. Donald Trump spoke at a North Carolina Rally this weekend. He pushed for Republicans to support candidates who are loyal to him and "support our values." Some party leaders fear that a rise of pro-Trump candidates could jeopardize the GOP's fight for control in the 2022 elections. (The Day, WTOP News)
  2. The NC Department of Transportation is piloting a new commercial trucking alert system. The new technology would give alerts to commercial truckers and allow more time to react before encountering major traffic slow downs or stops. (Chatham Journal)
  3. If you found yourself downtown this weekend and saw buildings lit up orange, you may have been wondering why. Gov. Roy Cooper declared June 4th Gun Violence Awareness Day after push from Moms Demand Action. (abc11)
  4. If you've been following along with me, you're probably aware of the abortion legislation that will be challenged in court. The lawsuit is being allowed to continue and more details surrounding it have been released. (abc13)
  5. If you're driving down Jones Sausage Rd. you will see residential areas on one side of the road and industrial buildings on the other. Now there has been a request to rezone a plot of land for bulk storage of ignitable hazardous material. Residents fear the impact it will have considering past problems with chemical leaks and other issues. (abc11)
