- All charges in connection with the rolling shootout that went from Garner to Raleigh have been dropped. The incident that took place on February 17 stemmed from a botched break-in at an auto shop in Garner. According to Tammy Amaon with the Johnston County Sheriff's Office, the district attorney's office did not have sufficient evidence for charges. (CBS17)
- Timothy Anthony Gunther has been arrested after his ineligible run for an open district judge seat in 2020. Gunther won the seat by more than 10,000 votes, but the Wake County Board of Elections discovered substantial evidence that cast doubt on his residency. Wake County Sheriff's Office Public Information Officer Erin Curry confirmed the arrest but did not confirm the official reason. (WAVY)
- An excavator knocked over a utility pole near Crabtree Valley Mall, impacting traffic lights in the area. The incident occurred around 4:45 pm, and power was still out as of 5:30 am. About 30 minutes after the incident, a wreck involving at least two cars took place in front of the mall. (CBS17)
- Republican lawmakers in the General Assembly have filed an appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court to halt implementation of the new congressional maps.
