Here are the top five stories today in Raleigh:
- On Monday, the Wake County Board of Commissioners received an update from the county regarding the allocation of American Rescue Plan Act funds. Deputy County Manager Emily Lucas said that all of the roughly $115 million that the county received has been allocated. More than half of the community projects are related to health care access or child and family stability. (CBS17)
- A Raleigh man is being held under house arrest following an incident involving two young girls at a Target over the weekend. Cory Perlman is charged with two counts of indecent liberties with a child. According to police Perlman was arrested on Sunday evening at the Grove Barton Road Target location after "inappropriately grabbing two juvenile females." (FOX8)
- Police are investigating after reports of a shooting at a motel on South Saunders Street. Officers say there is a video of three masked men knocking on one of the motel room doors. A woman answered then shut the door, but the men shot the door of the hotel room, hitting the woman in the abdomen. The victim is expected to be ok but says she does not know who the men were. (abc11)
- Video has been made public from a fatal stabbing that happened back in December. Video from surveillance cameras show various angles of the 15 second scuffle that ended in the death of Michael Bostic. Wake County District Attorney Lorrin Freeman has decided that they will not file charges even though the man ran away and failed to call 911, as a self defense argument could be made in the situation. (WRAL)
- Following the Sunday morning crash involving a GoRaleigh bus, one has died. A 2005 Acura and the GoRaleigh bus collided at the intersection of Peterson Street and Garner Road when the bus was making a left turn. The crash remains under investigation, but the bus driver has been cited with failure to yield causing serious bodily injury. (abc11)
