Here are the top stories today in Raleigh:
- After the state applied for help from FEMA, Wake County will finally be receiving help in the form of new state-of-the-art ambulances and trained EMS crews. The state's EMS director hopes the FEMA crews and advanced life support ambulances will make a significant difference in availability and delays. (WRAL)
- Nash Square saw people sleeping in tents on Thursday night to raise awareness about what they say is a crisis wrought by the pandemic. Attendees hope they will bring visibility to the current state of evictions in North Carolina. abc11)
- The historic Oak City Baptist Church in Raleigh is getting an update in the form of 112 solar panels. The church has received $27,000 in aid through the state's Solar Rebate program to get them a start on the program. (CBS17)
- Raleigh police are investigating a shooting that occurred on Friday morning on Western Boulevard. Officials confirmed at least one was shot and that person is being treated at WakeMed. (CBS17)
- A new analysis by LendingTree identified Raleigh as the best place to start a small business followed closely by Charlotte at #3 and Durham at #4. The study ranked the 100 largest metros in the US from best to worst for small businesses and many southern cities took the top spots. (WRAL)
