A few weeks ago county election officials across the state undertook logic and accuracy testing. State law requires a paper record of all ballots cast for audits and record keeping. (CBS17)
  2. Leaders and representatives of civil rights organizations gathered outside of the Wake County Courthouse to announce their voter mobilization campaigns. Co-founder of Forward Justice Action Network, Daryl Atkinson says that this office is critical for the future of community members. 3. Construction has begun on the new Union bus station in the Warehouse District. The $275 million project will include mixed-use space with plans for shops, apartments, and 200 hotel rooms as well as buses. The first wave of construction will focus on preserving a portion of the existing West Street warehouse façade to be incorporated into the new station scheduled to open in 2025. (CBS17, WRAL)
  4. Leesville Road High School was placed on a code red lockdown on Tuesday after a bomb threat was called in. A spokesperson from Wake County Public Schools said the lockdown was a precautionary measure, and was lifted shortly before noon. 5. A Raleigh man was arrested on Friday after a traffic stop along Interstate 40 revealed he was in possession of a kilo of meth. The traffic stop was for a "motor vehicle violation," and a probable cause search was conducted in which 1,186 grams of methamphetamines and 336 grams of marijuana were located.
