Here are the top three stories in Raleigh today:

  1. Raleigh police are looking for a driver who was involved in a hit and run incident. At about 2 am on Monday, officers were called to Hammond Road and Rush Street. When they arrived they found a man who was still conscious and alert but was hit by a car that fled the scene. (CBS17, WRAL) Police are also investigating after a man arrived at WakeMed Raleigh with a stab wound. (CBS17)
  2. WakeMed has announced that it is planning to build a new psychiatric hospital in Knightdale. WakeMed Behavioral Health services filed an application to build a 150 bed center that will cost about $137 million and is expected to be completed by late 2026. A public hearing will be held for the project on October 20 at 10 am on the Dorothea Dix Campus in Raleigh. (CBS17)
  3. Downtown Raleigh Restaurant Week kicked off Monday. You have until Sunday to partake. Several restaurants are offering discounts, specials, and/or a three-course prix-fixe dinner. Specials are subject to change and reservations are recommended. This year, 23 restaurants are participating and hope to drive traffic to downtown. (abc11, CBS17, WRAL)
