Warrant: Baby in Raleigh smoking marijuana on a Facebook video

A Raleigh mother was arrested after a video on Facebook was posted showing a baby smoking. 20-year-old Brianna Ashanti Lofton, the mother, was charged two counts of felony child abuse, contributing to delinquency and possession of marijuana.

The warrant states that the baby was smoking marijuana.

There were multiple videos that went viral. One with over one million views urged for the mother's arrest. The video is 10 seconds long and shows a hand giving the baby an object to smoke. The child appears to inhale and puff smoke.

Loften was taken to the Wake County Detention Center. The baby was placed in Child Protective Services.

"We appreciate the public's help in this matter," said RPD Lieutenant Jason Hodge. "We welcome and encourage any assistance the public is willing to give us at all times."
