USA 250: Celebrations planned locally for July 4 and beyond (rantnc.com) ā Sanfordās Red, White, and Blue Bash returns July 4 at Kiwanis Family Park with live music, food trucks, and fireworks starting at 5 p.m. The countyās America 250 committee is also rolling out history programs, tree plantings, theater, and walking tours across Lee County through the fall. Residents can plug into library events, school programs, and downtown activities tied to the nationās 250th birthday.

TriRiver Water rate proposal would raise bills across Chatham County as regional utility enters next phase (chathamjournal.com) ā Sanford residents and nearby communities could see a 7% hike in TriRiver Water rates as City of Sanford officials weigh a new budget and utility plan. The proposal would raise water and sewer bills across Sanford, Pittsboro, Chatham County and Siler City, with key public meetings on June 9 and June 16. Leaders say the increase funds growth and aging infrastructure, while customers worry about affordability.
