• Jury rejects self-defense claim in 2024 fatal Spring Lake bar stabbing (fayobserver.com) — A Cumberland County jury has convicted a Fort Bragg contractor of manslaughter in the 2024 stabbing death of an off-duty bartender at a Spring Lake-area sports bar on Manchester Road. Jurors rejected his self-defense and “Stand Your Ground” claims after reviewing extensive evidence, including surveillance video, 911 calls, and medical findings, and he received a prison sentence of just over five to seven years.
