• U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Advancing Surf City Coastal Storm Risk Management Project (mycnr.com) — Surf City’s long-planned beach and dune restoration just cleared a major federal hurdle, with funding now approved to move into final design and construction planning. The Army Corps project will widen about six miles of Surf City shoreline and rebuild dunes, with construction expected to start in late 2027 and last roughly 16 months, boosting storm protection for homes, businesses, and infrastructure.
