• DOT plans Mount Olive roundabout project (newsargus.com) — A Wallace-based company, Legion Asphalt, has landed a $2.9 million state contract to build a new roundabout at N.C. 55 and Indian Springs Road in nearby Mount Olive, with work expected to start in January. Residents should anticipate periodic detours and a full 21-day intersection closure before summer 2028 as the project aims to improve safety and reduce emissions.
