📰 News we're reading
• Native son makes name in Wilmington (newsbreak.com) — A new book by Duplin County native Eugene W. Merritt Jr. highlights projects that helped spur growth in the Wallace and Warsaw areas and across southeastern North Carolina. Merritt recounts his role in shaping I-40’s route, revitalizing downtown Wilmington, and advocating for restored rail service that would benefit Duplin towns. The story also nods to local roots at Warsaw High School.
