• Winston-Salem murder update: Man shot charged in Samantha Shuler case (wxii12.com) — Police have charged a man with the August shooting death of a Winston-Salem woman, and he's now being held in Georgia awaiting extradition to North Carolina. Officers say he was also shot during the incident on Stonefield Crossing Court, but another person fired in self-defense. Investigators are still seeking tips from anyone in Winston-Salem who may know more.

• Grant helps N.C. community college expand AI training programs (spectrumlocalnews.com) — Forsyth Technical Community College in Winston-Salem is getting a $916,000 National Science Foundation grant to grow its new artificial intelligence degree and lab, including humanoid robots and upgraded equipment. Nearly 80 students are already enrolled, and the program will help train locals for AI-related jobs while sharing 24 new AI courses across all 58 North Carolina community colleges. This expansion could significantly boost tech career options for Winston-Salem residents.
