Amherst Man Indicted for November Bank Robbery

The man wore a fake mustache and goatee while robbing Chemical Bank.

AMHERST, OH - An Amherst man was indicted by a federal grand jury on Jan. 9 for robbing a bank in November. Adam Carson, 34, of Amherst is facing charges related to robbing the Chemical Bank in Amherst.

Carson allegedly stole about $5,590 from the Chemical Bank, 1977 Cooper Foster Park Road, on Nov. 21. He wore a baseball hat and a fake goatee and mustache into the bank on Nov. 21. He then handed the teller a note that said, "Give me all the money or I will hurt you."

He then ran out of the bank and headed east on Cooper Foster Park Road. The Amherst Police Department and the FBI conducted the investigation.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Ranya Elzein.
