Avon Lake Woman Attacked By Dog

The woman was walking her own dog when the animal ran up and attacked the woman and her pet. The woman suffered a bite wound on her hand.

AVON LAKE, OH - Loose animals are scary. A dog off its leash attacked a woman and her pet last week. Read on for more information.

Vehicle Fire, Feb. 15 - Avon Police and Fire were called to a Lake Road business for a vehicle that had caught on fire. The interior of the vehicle was burning and Avon Fire extinguished the blaze.

Criminal Mischief, Feb. 18 - Three juveniles were caught doing damage to a garage door on Inwood. A neighbor spotted them as they damaged the garage door and then entered the garage. Police located the juveniles and they admitted to damaging the door and going inside the garage. The property is bank-owned and police said they would contact the bank about the damages.

Disturbance, Feb. 20 - A resident of Vineyard Road reported that her boyfriend was growing agitated and destroying things in her house. The boyfriend had an outstanding warrant in Sheffield Lake and was taken into custody.

Damage, Feb. 20 - Police were dispatched to Westwind Drive for property damage reports. Two mailboxes had been broken.

Assault, Feb. 20 - Officers were sent to a Beck Road address for a reported assault. A woman at the residence said her ex-boyfriend came over, started an argument, and then hit her. The man fled the residence before police arrived. Police were able to speak to the male on the phone the next day. The woman said she wants to pursue charges.

Animal Attack, Feb. 23 - A Yoder Boulevard woman was attacked by a loose dog on Feb. 23. The woman was walking her own dog when the loose pooch attacked her canine. The woman tried to intervene and the loose dog bit her. The woman suffered a minor puncture wound and a scrape to her right hand. The owner of the loose dog has been cited.
