Local School Donates $3,900 to Blessing House

Holy Trinity School receives a grant from the Ohio Catholic Federal Credit Union and raises money for Blessing House.

AVON, OH - Seventh grade students from Holy Trinity School, 2610 Nagel Rd. in Avon, OH will donate $2500 and an additional $1400 in needed toys to Sister Mary, the CEO of Blessing House, this Friday, December 9th at a school assembly.

Blessing House serves as a safety net for children of families in crisis by providing a temporary safe home for children and support for their families. The students’decision to raise funds for Blessing House was inspired by both the school’s theme, “Be the Change” and the Ohio Catholic Federal Credit Union.

The company awarded Holy Trinity School a $500 grant from their Catholic School Challenge Grant program that encourages students to work collaboratively and multiply the gifts provided by God. The 7th grade students planned and held a community bake sale, two donut sales for its students and a school dress down day. They also solicited donations as parents visited the school for parent/teacher conferences and the book fair. The students were overwhelmed by the support from the student body, parents and the parish community.
