New Fitness Company To Open In Avon Lake

AVON LAKE, OH — Burn Boot Camp, a fitness facility, will open its doors on March 25 in Avon Lake. An official ribbon cutting ceremony will be held at the business' Towne Center location at 1:15 p.m. At 2 p.m., the Burn Boot Camp orientation for new customers will start.

Located at 32814 Walker Rd., Burn Boot Camp has 7,000 square feet of space at the northwest corner of Route 83 and Walker Road. Approximately 5,000 square feet is purely dedicated to working out. The business is occupying spaces that were previously held by Blockbuster and Best Cuts.

One of the differentiating factors for Burn Boot Camp, versus other workout spaces, is the lack of machines. Traci Shaffner, owner of the new Avon Lake Burn Boot Camp, said in a press release, “We don’t use machines, we are one! We have hand weights, terra cores, a pull up rig, battle ropes and kettle balls along various other equipment so you never have the same workout twice.”

The orientation session on March 25 is helpful because Burn Boot Camp does not operate like a typical gym. During the orientation, customers will learn what the business is about, tour the facility, and sample Burn Nutrition, including various protein shakes and pre-workout drinks.

Shaffner is a lifelong Clevelander. She said Avon Lake fit her company's target profile. “Avon Lake is very

similar to where the original Burn opened,” Shaffner says. “It's a quaint town with a dense population of
moms which is our core demographic.”
