Waterfront Wine Festival 2016

Enjoy a sunset over Lake Erie while sampling wines from 9 local wineries, food from Avon Lake's finest restaurants and relaxing music. Admission is free for the rain or shine event. Tickets for tastings are $20 and include 10 wine pours and a commemorative event wine glass to use at the event and take home.

Nine local wineries including Klingshirn Winery, John Christ Winery, Matus Winery, Firelands Winery, Humble Bee Vineyards, Chateau Tebeau, D&D Smith Winery, Vermilion Valley and Paper Moon Winery will pour one-ounce tastings of various Ohio-produced red and white wines. Wines by the bottle will be available for purchase but not permitted to be opened in the park.

More than 10 restaurants and food trucks including Parker’s Grille & Tavern, Legacy Restaurant, Kelsey Elizabeth Cakes, Krav Food Truck, Novotny Catering, Pizza 800 Degrees, Gitta’s Table, Giant Eagle, and Premier Crepes will serve small plates designed for wine pairing and sold by vendors.

The Avon Lake Waterfront Corporation’s mission is to promote local businesses and groups. For the first time, the Wine Festival will benefit Smiles for Sophie Forever, a foundation confronting pediatric brain cancer.

Back for a second year is the Peter & Co. Diamond Dig – a treasure hunt for cubic zirconia, gemstones or a .78 carat round brilliant cut natural diamond.
