1. U.S. Chamber, Clermont County Chamber Convene Rep. Dave Taylor and Local Business Leaders on Surface Transportation Funding (uschamber.com) — Business and civic leaders gathered at Total Quality Logistics in Cincinnati to press for a long-term federal surface transportation bill that supports Ohio's roads, bridges, and freight routes. Rep. Dave Taylor and chamber officials stressed how better infrastructure would help local employers, Appalachian communities, and Clermont County families move people and products more safely and efficiently.
   

2. Go the Distance for Childhood Cancer Research (citylifestyle.com) — A Cincinnati-rooted nonprofit, CancerFree KIDS, is ramping up its 100 Mile Challenge this month to fund cutting-edge pediatric cancer research at Cincinnati Children's Hospital and beyond. Founded by a Cincinnati native, the group backs early-stage studies, supports local "Champion" families, and invites residents to join fitness fundraising, zoo walks, and other events to help kids facing cancer.
   

3. Local nonprofit faces deadline to move as it works to get beds to kids in need (local12.com) — A Cincinnati-based volunteer nonprofit that builds and delivers beds for local kids in need is being forced to move out of its Newtown warehouse by Oct. 31 and urgently needs a larger space. The Sleep in Heavenly Peace Cincinnati chapter has already provided 1,600 beds but still has a waitlist of 200–300 children, and leaders hope to secure a new 5,000–6,000-square-foot facility to keep serving families through winter.
   

4. Coco Gauff's mom, Candi, hilariously solves the problem of being asked for free US Open tickets (thebiglead.com) — Cincinnati tennis fans get a fun behind-the-scenes look at Coco Gauff's mom, Candi, jokingly shutting down constant requests for free US Open tickets. The story also nods to Gauff's strong form in Cincinnati, where she recently lifted the Open trophy again before heading to New York.
