Today's riddle: Why are crows so alert and curious? 🤔 (Answer below!)
1. Cuyahoga County executive hints at future of Justice Center site (news5cleveland.com) — Cuyahoga County leaders are weighing big changes to the aging Justice Center complex in downtown Cleveland, as police and the county jail prepare to move out. With millions already earmarked for courthouse repairs, officials are now exploring whether new construction and redevelopment of nearly seven acres near Lakeside, Ontario, and the convention center could reshape this key part of downtown.
2. Woman arrested for using her car to try and strike man: Shaker Heights Police Blotter (cleveland.com) — Recent Shaker Heights police reports detail several incidents involving Cleveland residents, including an alleged assault with a car on Lee Road and a domestic violence case linked to a protection order. Officers also made multiple arrests of Cleveland residents for trespassing, burglary-related warrants, and vehicle break-ins in nearby neighborhoods, highlighting crime patterns just minutes from Cleveland's east side.
3. WWII 'Doc' takes flight in Cleveland, reunited with veteran who saved it from the desert (cleveland19.com) — A restored WWII B-29 bomber nicknamed "Doc" is visiting Burke Lakefront Airport, giving Cleveland-area residents a rare chance to see and even ride in the historic aircraft. South Euclid native and Air Force veteran Tony Mazzolini, who helped rescue the plane from the Mojave Desert decades ago, watched it take flight over Cleveland before it continues its national tour.
4. Counseling needed after wedding rehearsal dinner: Orange Police Blotter (cleveland.com) — Orange police recently handled a tense dispute over a nearly $15,000 rehearsal dinner bill, ultimately negotiating a reduced payment and civil agreement. In separate traffic stops, officers arrested Cleveland drivers on I-271 and Orange Place for warrants and driving without a license, underscoring how Cleveland residents' cases can quickly escalate when traveling through nearby suburbs.
