ODOT Considering Deceleration Lane From I-71 South To SR 176
The agency is currently seeking public comment on the proposed project.

CLEVELAND — ODOT is considering adding a 1,300-foot long deceleration lane from I-71 south to SR 176 south. The agency is looking for public comment on the proposed project.
The Ohio Department of Transportation said the deceleration lane would extend from the current SR 176 exit to W. 14th Street overpass. All construction would take place within the existing I-71 median area.
Construction in the area would be permitted by a minor lane shift along I-71, ODOT said. However, a weekend closure of the SR 176 ramp would be required so crews could build a transition between the proposed and existing pavement.

ODOT added that there would also be temporary off-peak lane closures on I-71 south to allow for drainage conduit installation.
