'This is a promise': The Euclid Beach Park arch has been restored and is ready to be lit up (news5cleveland.com) — Cleveland's restored Euclid Beach Park arch is being unveiled in a new pocket park on Lakeshore Boulevard, complete with a lighting ceremony and fresh landscaping. The $1.3 million project anchors broader efforts to revive Collinwood's lakefront corridor, including demolishing vacant stores, exploring new development, and expanding nearby Cleveland Metroparks and library facilities for better public access to the lakefront.
   

2. Great Lakes Towing orders two new tugs (workboat.com) — A long-time Cleveland marine company is investing in the city's working waterfront by ordering two new tugboats from its sister shipyard on the Cuyahoga. Great Lakes Towing says the Cleveland-built vessels will modernize its Great Lakes fleet, support regional shipping, and keep skilled shipbuilding jobs anchored locally through at least 2028.
   

3. You could win tickets to see the Cavs vs the Celtics at Rocket Arena! (audacy.com) — Cleveland basketball fans can soon enter a WNCX online contest for a shot at free tickets to the Cavaliers' October 8 preseason matchup with the Boston Celtics at Rocket Arena downtown. Starting September 28, listeners who catch the Workforce Winning Word and submit it online will be eligible to win mobile tickets, provided they meet age and app requirements.
   

4. Balloonfest '86: 40 years later, remembering Cleveland's infamous record-breaking day in the sky (wkyc.com) — Forty years after Balloonfest '86, Cleveland is still reckoning with the record-breaking balloon release that was meant to boost civic pride and raise money for United Way. The event briefly dazzled downtown before weather pushed 1.5 million balloons back over the city and Lake Erie, creating environmental problems, lawsuits, and a world record that Cleveland now holds permanently.
   

5. As man falls from bike, gun drops from his pocket and leads to arrest: Shaker Heights Police Blotter (cleveland.com) — Recent Shaker Heights police reports include a 23-year-old Cleveland man arrested after a fall from his bike exposed a concealed gun, plus a related firearm theft report involving another Cleveland resident. Officers also handled a domestic violence case, two OVI arrests, a burglary at Diamonds Men's Store on Chagrin Boulevard, and thefts from vehicles on Avalon and Fairhill roads.
