Local drivers describe paying $60–$80 to fill up and say the new normal is reshaping how they plan weekly trips and commutes around the city.
   

3. How 6 dogs are helping fight an invasion in Cleveland Metroparks this winter (news5cleveland.com) — Cleveland Metroparks is using six specially trained dogs to sniff out destructive Spotted Lanternfly egg masses, helping protect local trees and parks through the winter. Residents are urged to squash any lanternflies they see, scrape egg clusters, inspect outdoor furniture, and can register at Metroparks nature centers for free lampshade trap kits funded by a state grant.
   

4. Meet the YouTuber saving the heart of Cleveland's first lift bridge (signalakron.org) — Cleveland's historic Eagle Avenue lift bridge is slated for demolition this winter, but a Medina YouTuber has rescued its 450-pound control panel and hopes to feature it in a future Cleveland Museum of Engineering and Transportation. As the city prepares to lose its first lift bridge, he's racing to restore artifacts, collect stories, and preserve Cleveland's industrial past.

Congressman Max Miller's race gets dirty, with both sides objecting to attack ads (news5cleveland.com) — Residents in Cleveland's West Side suburbs are seeing a heated 7th District congressional race escalate, with both Max Miller and Brian Poindexter attacking each other in hard-hitting TV ads. One ad has prompted Miller to threaten to sue News 5 Cleveland, while federal rules still require stations to air candidate spots even if they're disputed.
