The Great Grog Bake Off

Based on The Great British Bake Off, the ultimate baking battle

where passionate amateur bakers compete over the course of 10 episodes,

the Grog Shop will host a one-night competition and delicious

bake-tasting event inspired by the classic Channel 4 program, back AGAIN

by popular demand!

As an audience member, you'll be sharing in the sweet spoils of the

competition by sampling the competing bakes and voting on them live.

Your entry fee will go to the winning baker as part of the grand prize

pot! Our hosts and judges will entertain you and the contestants with

their goofy antics and critiques.

THE CHALLENGE 

Our theme for the latest installment of Bake Off, inspired by the sweet

seasonal selection of ripe produce in Northeast Ohio, will be BERRIES!

From cakes to croissants and other decadent desserts-- for their

"Signature Bake" our amateurs can enter any creation into the

competition made with seasonal Ohio fruit as the star. They'll have only

one chance to impress the judges, take home the crown, and our grand

prize! But wait, they'll also have the opportunity to win over the

audience, who will also be voting for their favorites. So stack that

THE JUDGES 

 

Kelly Brewer started Bigmouth Donut Company

in 2017 with the idea that donuts are much better when made with real

ingredients, instead of premade mixes and preservative-enhanced fillings

and glazes. To this day, Bigmouth has kept that promise, which also

includes a heavy variety of Gluten-Free and Vegan options daily.

Bigmouth's flagship store is in Rocky River, although they are known

throughout Cleveland through a large variety of events and markets that

they attend. Brewer's background is in tourism, and he loves all things

Cleveland. He knows what tastes good and has a strong, seasoned team

around him, including his daughter Brooke, who truly makes the magic

happen overnight. The goal of Bigmouth is always to create delicious

treats that people want to eat, while honoring the classic donuts that

he and others grew up with. 

Anna Kiss Mauser-Martinez is the Executive Director of

City Fresh, where she works at the intersection of local food systems,

community resilience, and equitable access to fresh food. City Fresh

offers tiered-pricing farm boxes in neighborhoods throughout Northeast

Ohio, and educational programs and a new farmer incubator at its farm in

Oberlin.
