The Modern Electric brings their nostalgia-forward, annual Northcoast Christmas extravaganza back to Grog Shop, featuring special guests Grumpy Plum and Jack Lutz. The Modern Electric are driven by the feeling that time is running out; that it is crucial to express what really matters to loved ones before it is too late. They believe that honest, authentic songwriting has the power to articulate emotions that words cannot. Inspired as much by classic cinema as they are David Bowie and ELO, they’ve coined the genre “cinematic rock” to describe their powerful piano-charged sound. Each richly-orchestrated pop symphony is led by a voice that has no comparison; a unique vibrato saturated in soul and sensitivity.

Based on The Great British Bake Off, the ultimate baking battle where passionate amateur bakers compete over the course of 10 episodes, the Grog Shop will host a one-night competition and delicious bake-tasting event inspired by the classic Channel 4 program, back by popular demand!
As an audience member, you'll be sharing in the spoils of the competition by sampling the competing bakes and voting on them live. Your entry fee will go to the winning baker as part of the grand prize pot! Our hosts and judges will entertain you and the contestants with their goofy antics and critiques.
THE CHALLENGE By popular demand, the theme for our 8th installment is CHEESE. Savory or sweet, cheese is beloved worldwide and has made an appearance in bakery from cheesecake to danishes, Polish Kolaczki, or Colombian pan de queso; bakers must use cheese somewhere in their signature bake. They'll have only one chance to impress the judges, take home the crown, and our grand prize! But wait, they'll also have the opportunity to win over the audience, who will also be voting for their favorites. So stack that invite list for your chance to win the Popular Vote and get your tickets now to the only event at Grog Shop where you can TASTE the competition.
