CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH — Starting Thursday, the Cleveland Heights Senior Center, also known as the Community Center, will be closed to the public. City officials said the facility will be closed because of concern over the new coronavirus, COVID-19.

The facility's closing will be re-evaluated on a weekly basis, the city said on Facebook. The annual St. Baldrick's fundraiser, scheduled for Sunday, March 15, will be cancelled and rescheduled at a later date.

Ohio's first confirmed cases of coronavirus, called COVID-19, were announced on Monday. All three infected people live in Cuyahoga County. The Jewish Education Center in Cleveland Heights has been closed for two weeks after a staffer tested positive for the virus.
