Wanted Persons Followed Into, Arrested In Cleveland Heights

Police Chief Annette Mecklenburg said neighboring police departments followed a suspicious vehicle into Cleveland Heights on Tuesday.

CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH β€” A car pursuit ended in Cleveland Heights on Tuesday, causing an increased police presence on Cedar Road, between Lee and Coventry.

Police from neighboring communities were looking for a car that was reportedly connected to a crime that happened in Cleveland. The vehicle was spotted and followed into Cleveland Heights.

Officers eventually stopped the car on Cedar and arrested the occupants of the vehicle. Cleveland Police were then called to the scene to investigate.

Police Chief Annette Mecklenburg said a helicopter was seen flying in the area. She speculated that it could have been a news station's helicopter trying to get a look at what was going on.

Tuesday was a busy day for Cleveland Heights Police. There were also reports of possible gunshotson the city's west side, but investigators believe callers may have confused the sound of fireworks for discharged weapons.
