Serving Up Resilience: Inside Dayton's 6888 Kitchen Incubator (livability.com) — A new shared kitchen inside the historic Dayton Arcade is helping local food entrepreneurs launch and grow their businesses while honoring Dayton native Charity Adams Earley and the 6888th battalion. The 6888 Kitchen Incubator offers affordable commercial space, business training, and mentorship, with participants already planning ventures like a mobile pastry café. Organizers say the goal is better food access and long-term economic resilience for Dayton neighborhoods. 
2. Dayton man sentenced in 2025 fatal shooting, robbery (dayton247now.com) — A Dayton man has been sentenced to at least 25 years in prison for a 2025 fatal shooting and robbery at Sugar's Lounge on North Main Street. Prosecutors say security video and witnesses tied him to the killing, and he must also pay restitution for funeral and burial costs.
3. 'Evicting the American Dream' wins documentary film award (pcusa.org) — A nationally recognized documentary on eviction and housing injustice was filmed mostly in Dayton and co-produced by a Sinclair Community College professor emeritus and a Dayton Foundation fellow. The film highlights local families' experiences while aiming to spur policy change, and residents can stream it or follow grassroots screenings to stay engaged with the issue.
4. University of Dayton graduate dies in Alaska plane crash (wdtn.com) — A recent University of Dayton graduate and Air Force officer was among eight people killed in a small-plane crash near a remote radar site in Alaska. The Pride of Dayton Marching Band is honoring Leah Borsich with memorial pins and a moment of silence before this weekend's Dayton Flyers football game. 5. Dolly Parton visited Centerville family through late brother Dayne Puckett (whio.com) — A Centerville woman is opening up about her late brother's years touring with Dolly Parton, including a cherished 1974 photo from the Dayton Convention Center.
