1. Dayton works to clean up graffiti (spectrumnews1.com) — Dayton is rolling out its new Graffiti Delete program to make it easier for residents and businesses to report vandalism around town. You can snap a photo, submit a request through an online portal or call 937-333-4800, and the city will route public-space graffiti to Public Works and private-property cases to the Housing Division for follow-up.
   

2. Search begins for the 2026 Dayton Holiday Festival tree (wdtn.com) — Downtown Dayton organizers are already hunting for a massive evergreen to anchor the 2026 Dayton Holiday Festival on Courthouse Square, and they're asking local homeowners to nominate their own trees. If you have a 40–50-foot spruce or similar evergreen with clear access and no nearby power lines, you can submit it through a Google Form on the Dayton Holiday Festival website.
   

3. Wright State students, alumni create short film for Smithsonian exhibition (spectrumnews1.com) — Dayton residents can now experience a Smithsonian-organized exhibition at the Dayton Art Institute enhanced by an immersive short film created by Wright State University motion picture students and alumni. The project, produced through the Tom Hanks Center for Motion Pictures, explores key figures in William H. Johnson's "Fighters for Freedom" series and gives local filmmakers national exposure while enriching a major art show in town.
   

4. Kids Burn A Whole Day At These Seven Ohio Attractions That Charge Nothing (takingthekids.com) — Dayton families can spend an entire free day exploring the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force, with massive aircraft displays, simulators, and kid-friendly exhibits right off Spaatz Street. The guide also spotlights six other no-admission Ohio destinations, from major art museums to scenic parks, all offering full-day adventures without ticket costs, just travel and snacks.
   

5. State rep pushes legislative action following attack on Amy Acton (whio.com) — A Dayton-area state representative, Phil Plummer, is calling for tougher laws on political violence after a man allegedly rushed Ohio gubernatorial candidate Amy Acton while armed at a campaign event. Drawing on his own experience receiving fake anthrax, Plummer points to pending House bills and urges voters to respond to political disagreements at the ballot box, not through threats or attacks.
