• Payne's Corner in Gallia County to receive Underground Railroad marker (wvnews.com) — Gallia County residents are invited to a May 16 dedication of a new Underground Railroad historical marker at Payne’s Corner, part of a growing heritage trail that includes Gallipolis’ John Gee Black Historical Center. The marker honors two enslaved brothers who passed through Gallipolis on their escape to freedom and highlights the county’s key role in an interracial Underground Railroad network now recognized nationally. 
• Man dies in Gallia County motorcycle crash (wowktv.com) — A 32-year-old Gallipolis man, Kruz White, died Monday evening after his motorcycle collided with a Jeep on Georges Creek Road in Gallia County. Authorities say the crash shut down the road for about two hours as local agencies, including the Gallipolis Fire Department, responded and investigated.
• Wilkinson Earns 12th Career BFL Victory at Phoenix Bass Fishing League Event at Ohio River at Tanners Creek (anglerschannel.com) — A Phoenix Bass Fishing League tournament on the Ohio River at Tanners Creek saw Indiana’s Chris Wilkinson take the boater win, but Gallipolis angler Kenny Dials also cracked the top ten with a solid five-bass limit. The event feeds into a season-long circuit where strong finishes can send weekend anglers to regional championships and even the prestigious BFL All-American.
