September Is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month In Lakewood
Residents can print off signs as part of the #CountMeIn campaign and spread awareness.

LAKEWOOD, OH — Lakewood City Council is expected to adopt a resolution on Tuesday that will declare September "Prostate Cancer Awareness" in the city. The city took to Facebook to promote the action, sharing the #CountMeIn campaign.
The #CountMeIn campaign, organized by Zero, asks Americans to share photos of themselves with a printed off sign that reads #CountMeIn. The goal is to spread awareness of prostate cancer and get more men to schedule screenings.
"Join us in this effort to acknowledge the significance of this issue & to encouraging men to talk to their doctors," the city said on Facebook. Residents can print off the free signs from #CountMeIn and write-in who they're fighting for (an afflicted family member, for instance).

Lakewood City Council will be visited by one of the Cleveland Clinic's top urology doctors, Dr. Charles Modlin. He will receive council's resolution and express his gratitude for the cropping up of awareness movements for prostate cancer.
“We are delighted that Dr. Modlin will be visiting Council Chambers to bring attention to prostate cancer,” said Councilmember Tristan Rader. “It is my hope that by introducing this resolution that Council will raise awareness about prostate cancer and offer support to families in our community touched by this disease.”
