• Permission sought to install suicide lifeline signs in Lisbon (morningjournalnews.com) — Lisbon officials are weighing new 988 suicide lifeline signs for village parks and the downtown square while also moving ahead on long-needed swimming pool repairs. Council accepted $50,000 in ARPA funds, set a parks meeting for equipment planning, adjusted health insurance renewal, and shifted water project funding, with the next council meeting on Oct. 13.
   

• Lisbon turns over Valley Christian (morningjournalnews.com) — Lisbon football fans can celebrate a big 28-14 win over Valley Christian, powered by four interceptions and three touchdowns from quarterback Grant Minor. The Blue Devils are now 3-3 and continue league play Friday at Wellsville, keeping Lisbon firmly in the Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference mix.
   

• Man convicted of assault with a firearm appeals sentence (morningjournalnews.com) — A Lisbon man convicted of felonious assault with a firearm is appealing a prison sentence of at least nine years and up to 12. His case, tied to a 2025 Madison Township shooting, is now before the Seventh District Court of Appeals as his attorney seeks appointment of appellate counsel.
