Saturday shooting in Lorain kills one man, injures another (chroniclet.com) — A pre-dawn shooting at West 15th Street and Reid Avenue in Lorain left 20-year-old Marseilles Mastin dead and a 34-year-old man hospitalized in stable condition. US Attorney's Office and US Marshals Service announce more than 600 arrests in northern Ohio violent crime crackdown (highlandcountypress.com) — Lorain was one of eight northern Ohio cities targeted in a major summer crime crackdown that led to 619 arrests, hundreds of cleared warrants, and nearly 200 seized firearms. Local officers, including the Lorain Police Department and Lorain-based fugitive task force teams, joined federal and state partners in Operation Northern Shield to pursue suspects wanted for violent crimes and drug offenses.
