Athens deputy arrested in connection with Bellar family case: The Athens Messenger reports that Sergeant Jimmy Childs was arrested on Friday in connection to the investigation into the Bellar family. Four members of the family are facing serious charges having to do with alleged sexual abuse or the alleged coverup of it. Prosecutors say Childs deleted evidence of a phone call with the father of the Bellar family, and provided false information. A statement from the prosecutor's office is expected on Monday.
Marietta is putting the final touches on the Aquatic Center: Marietta Mayor Josh Schlicher posted to Facebook that the Public Works Department is wrapping things up at the Aquatic Center. He said they installed new landscaping as well as a new chlorine tank. They filled the pool with 350,000 gallons of water. They still plan on having everything ready for the grand reopening on May 29.
Sunday is the deadline for the first Ohio Vax-a-Million drawing: This weekend the Ohio Department of Health announced that anyone wishing to be entered into the state's vaccine sweepstakes has to do so by Sunday night. WSAZ reports that millions of people have already entered for their chance to win $1,000,000 or a college scholarship. The deadline is 11:59 and the first winner will be announced on Wednesday.
