Ohio House Bill to change ballot language for tax issues: Andy Chow of the Statehouse News Bureau reports that the Ohio House approved a bill to change the verbiage on the ballot for tax issues. H.B. 140 wants to require all tax levy and bond issues to state how much the levy would cost per $100,000 of appraised property value. Supporters of the bill feel this makes the issue more clear for voters. Right now tax levies are measured in mills, which is confusing for many people. The bill's opponents argue that the ballot language is not meant to be an accurate estimate of taxes owed by each individual should the levy pass.

Marietta College men's lacrosse team loses their last game: On Saturday, the Marietta College men's lacrosse team lost 14-4 to Baldwin Wallace. This was their regular season finale. Marietta ends their lacrosse season 4-9 overall. Their coach said this year came with challenges, but they learned a lot that they will use to continue to build upon as a program moving forward.

Cook Safetytown are canceled this year. These programs are for incoming kindergarteners and first graders to teach them about things like stranger safety, fire safety, electrical safety, and poison safety, to name a few.
