Marietta historical tidbit of the day:

Marietta had been the location for the debut of a national film in 1957. The movie was Battle Hymn, and it was selected to premere here because it was the life story of Colonel Dean Hess, and this is his hometown. The stars of the film came here, Rock Hudson, Martha Hyer, and Jock Mahoney. They held luncheons, gave speeches and rode in parades, they were mobbed by fans everywhere.
