Etta Express advances in the OAC Championship: On Thursday, the Marietta College baseball team beat John Carroll University in the second round of the conference tournament. They won 10-3. They now boast a record of 33-4. The Pioneers will now host the University of Mount Union in a best of three championship series.

Johnson votes against Jan 6 bill: On Thursday Southeast Ohio's U.S. Congressman Bill Johnson voted against HR 3237. This bill calls for nearly 2-billion-dollars in emergency funding to respond to the January 6 attack at the Capital. The money would go to federal authorities and the legislative branch. The bill passed the House and now moves to the Senate.
Belpre man sentenced for major auto theft: WSAZ reports that Ricky McLaughlin of Belpre is going to spend more than 7 years in federal prison. He had operated the McLaughlin Motor Car Museum in Parkersburg, WV where he stole money and defrauded customers of more than $1,000,000. He was convicted and will have to pay nearly $700,000 in restitution.

DeWine reassigns chief of staff: The Associated Press reports that Ohio Governor Mike DeWine is making some major staffing changes. Laurel Dawson will continue to advise DeWine, but the new chief of staff will be former policy director Michael Hall.
