Fire At Belpre Apartment Complex, MC Soccer Wins, MC Golf Second

In today's Marietta Morning we look at a Belpre fire and Marietta College sports.

Fire in Belpre at Society Manor: Laura Bown of WTAP reported on Sunday that an early morning fire tore through Society Manor. She reports that heavy damage was done to one of the Belrock Avenue apartments, and three other apartments suffered smoke and water damage. One police officer was sent to the hospital for smoke inhalation but has since been released. The cause of the fire is still unknown.

Marietta College men's soccer team finishes strong: On Sunday the Marietta College men's soccer team beat Baldwin Wallace 3-1. This means the Pioneers finished their regular season with a 7-2 overall record. This is a new school record for conference wins in a season, the previous record of 6 conference wins was set in 1984 and matched in 2002. They will get a bye week in the first round in next week's conference tournament where they are seeded #2.

Marietta College men's golf take second at Cardinal Classic: On Sunday Marietta College took part in the 27-hole Cardinal Classic. Otterbein won with a total score of 301. Marietta came up just two strokes short at 303. However, Gage Herb of Marietta won the tournament by three strokes with a personal score of 104.
