Former Washington County Commissioner mourned: Janelle Patterson of the Marietta Times reports that Glen Miller passed away on Monday. He was formerly a county commissioner and also a local businessman. He built a TV cable company in the Beverly-Waterford area. Miller was 85 at the time of his passing.

Marietta College women's lacrosse team loses in the semifinals: On Tuesday, the Marietta College women's lacrosse team lost to Capital University 19-7. This was the quarterfinal game of the Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament. Marietta finishes their season 7-10 overall.
Fully vaccinated Ohioans won't have to quarantine if exposed to COVID-19: WLWT reports that Governor Mike DeWine has made big changes to public health orders. He announced on Tuesday that anyone 16 and over who's two weeks past their final COVID-19 shot exposed to infected individuals won't have to quarantine. He says this is a big deal for older high school students in sports or other activities.

A Marietta man is going to prison for sex crimes against a minor: Michelle Newbanks of the Marietta Times reported that on Tuesday, 24-year-old Ryan Seevers was sentenced to nine months in prison. He had initially been indicted for rape involving a female minor under the age of 13, he pleaded guilty to the amended charge of attempted gross sexual imposition. He will have to serve five years of probation upon release and will be listed as a Tier II sex offender.
Primary election is right around the corner: Todd Baucher of WTAP reports that the 2021 Ohio primary is less than a week out. The election is set for Tuesday May 4th, and it will determine who's on the November ballot. Washington County will see contested races for Belpre auditor and city council president. The main issue facing Marietta voters is an income tax levy for city schools.
