Happy Monday, neighbors! Let's get you all caught up on what's happening locally to start today off on an informed note.


First, what the next three days of weather look like:

  • Monday: Humid and partly cloudy throughout the day. High of 93, Low of 67.
  • Tuesday: Possible light rain in the morning. High of 89, Low of 71.
  • Wednesday: Possible light rain overnight. High of 90, Low of 73.

Marietta Ohio has been home to four Ohio governors. First being Return Jonathan Meigs, he came to Marietta in 1788 and was elected governor. John Brough was the first native-born Mariettan to be governor, he was elected governor in 1863. George White was born in Upstate New York before moving to Marietta during the oil boom. He was elected as governor in 1931. C. William O'Neill was elected in 1957 as governor. He had been the Attorney General of Ohio, and went on to be Chief Justice of the Ohio Supreme Court. He was the only man to hold all three high Ohio offices.

Dewey Bartlett was also a Marietta native who went to become a governor too. However he wasn't governor of Ohio, he became Governor of Oklahoma from 1967-1971.
