Lawrence County shooting: WSAZ reports that a woman is in the hospital after a shooting in Lawrence County, Ohio. Deputies say they were called to the Country Hearth Inn & Suites in South Point for an early Sunday morning shooting. They say a 27-year-old woman was shot twice in the shoulder area. She said 48-year-old Frank Hill spent the night with her, and shot her during an argument. He took off after the shooting, but deputies found him hiding under an old couch that had been thrown out. The young woman is expected to survive.

Etta Express steamrolls Mount Union: The Marietta College has capped off their regular season with a couple more wins. On Sunday they swept Mount Union in another doubleheader. This means their regular record stands at 32-4, and they boast a conference record of 30-3. The Pioneers are officially first seeded in the conference, and will play again Thursday in the second round of the Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament.
Ohio lawmaker wants businesses to completely reopen: Andy Chow of the Statehouse News Bureau reports that as health orders are ending, COVID protocols will be up to businesses. State representative Jon Cross of Kenton wants Ohio to open up entirely. He said businesses are struggling at limited capacities, and Ohioans have the capacity to make their own decisions.

Ohio road safety: On Sunday the Ohio Department of Traffic tweeted out a reminder for folks to obey the speed limit. They say there have been nearly 10,000 speed-related crashes in Ohio so far this year alone. More than 100 people have been killed. They ask everyone to do their part and keep the roads safe.
