Low Traffic Fatalities For Memorial Day Weekend
The Ohio State Highway Patrol says there were only nine traffic deaths in Ohio for the entire Memorial Day weekend.

MARIETTA, OH —The Ohio State Highway Patrol says over the entire Memorial Day weekend there were only nine deaths on state roadways. A sharp drop from years past. Last year alone there were 20. Troopers looked at data from Friday, May 28, through Monday, May 31.

There were no traffic deaths this past weekend in Washington County. There were 592 total Ohio State Highway Patrol involved contacts with the public in Washington County. This includes cases involving enforcement, non-enforcement, crashes, OVIs, suspended licenses, distracted driving, safety belts, assists, drugs, felony arrests, felony warrants. Troopers want to remind drivers that the safety of the road is a shared responsibility. They want you to follow traffic laws, wear seatbelts, and drive sober. Anyone who spots drug activity or dangerous impaired driving can report it by calling #677.
