1. Marietta/Belpre Health Department hosting 'Diaper Drive' to support families (mariettatimes.com) — Families in Marietta who want to help neighbors in need can support the Marietta/Belpre Health Department's diaper drive, running through Sept. 30 at 304 Putnam St. Staff say larger-size diapers and wipes are especially needed to keep local babies clean and comfortable as the community-funded diaper bank stretches limited resources.
   

2. Eastern takes three sets over Marietta (wtap.com) — Marietta volleyball fans saw the Lady Tigers fall 3-1 at home to the Eastern Lady Eagles, despite a late push in the fourth set. Local standouts like Rylee Wilkinson, Ava Prim, and Maevry McCombs kept Marietta competitive before Eastern closed out the match with strong net play.
   

3. Summit to be held at Marietta College (mariettatimes.com) — Marietta residents interested in the future of Appalachian Ohio can attend a free rural development summit at Marietta College on Sept. 24, with registration open online through Sept. 18. Regional leaders will discuss workforce, housing, entrepreneurship, and community development, offering ideas local residents, students, and officials can bring back to strengthen Marietta and surrounding communities.
   

4. DeWine announces Regional Education Partnership initiative (mariettatimes.com) — A new statewide Regional Education Partnerships initiative will directly involve Marietta through Building Bridges to Careers, which is part of one of Ohio's seven regional teams. The program aims to coordinate schools, employers, and community groups to better track student progress from preschool through career, using shared data to target support where local young people need it most.
   

5. Obituary: Litman, Diana Marie (wtap.com) — Marietta is mourning the passing of longtime resident Diana Marie Litman, 69, remembered for her friendly presence at Dollar Tree in town and deep ties to local communities. Her family suggests memorial donations to the Humane Society of the Ohio Valley in Marietta, and a Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
