Marietta College women's lacrosse make the OAC Tournament: On Saturday the Marietta College women's lacrosse team beat Heidelberg University 14-8. This means the Pioneers finished their regular season 7-9. This record is good enough to earn them a spot in the conference tournament. They play the Capitals on the road Tuesday, April 27 in the quarterfinals.

Marietta College men's lacrosse dominates: On Saturday, the Marietta College men's lacrosse team pulled off their first-ever shutout. They beat Heidelberg University 21-0. The Pioneers are now 4-8 overall and boast a 3-5 conference record. Their next game will be May 1 against Baldwin Wallace, it will be the last game of the regular season.
Washington County proms are a go: Kyle Nichols of the Marietta Times reports that area high schools are indeed having prom this year. Belpre, Marietta, Fort Frye, Frontier, Warren, Washington and Waterford high schools will all hold their proms at some point over the next month. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, face coverings will be mandatory, no food will be served, and only students and staff will be permitted.

Marietta rape charge: WTAP reports that 37-year-old Andrew Ryan Nunn of Marietta was arrested and charged with rape and sexual battery of a minor. They say a 17-year-old met with detectives with the Washington County Sheriff's Office and alleged that when they were 12-13 years old they had sexual encounters with Nunn. He was processed into the Washington County Jail on Thursday.
