Marietta historical tidbit of the day:
After World War II there was a renewed effort to invigorate tourism in Marietta. Proponents of various downtown renewal efforts tried to emphasize what a beautiful town Marietta is to do business in. There were also attempts to improve the recreational opportunities in the city. But in in 1955 the lock and dam system changed significantly, which affected river travel. But in 1968 accessibility to the city once again opened along with our segment of I-77.
