In today's Marietta Morning we learn a bit about the man leading the Belpre football team, a drug trafficker going to jail, and a local fire

Former Buckeye is now Belpre High School's head football coach: MOV2Go posted Thursday on Facebook that Jimmie Bell would be coaching the Golden Eagles. He's a two-time Big Ten Champion and a Rose Bowl Champion. Bell is a motivational speaker from Youngstown, Ohio. He says he's been involved in the community for a few years and sees potential here. He acknowledged that this is a big project, but he says as a team they can come together and make things happen.

Drug trafficker sentenced in Washington County: Janelle Patterson of the Marietta Times reports that Irwin Gray of Jamaica, NY was sentenced this week after pleading guilty to trafficking drugs. He and others had been arrested in a Marietta Airbnb which prosecutors say they were selling meth and fentanyl out of. He was sentenced to nine years in prison but will have to do two more years in a Pennsylvania prison afterwards.

Mobile home fire in Marietta: Phyllis Smith of WTAP reports that County Road 9 was shut down on Thursday night due to a fire at a mobile home. Multiple fire departments responded. There were also reports of a crash involving a fire truck. This story will be updated when more information is released.

Memorial Health System golf outing: Sarah Cooke of WTAP reports that registrations for Memorial Health System's golf outing are coming to a close. Folks can sign up for the Selby Golf Outing through the end of the day. The cost is $600 per team or $150 per person. The funds raised will go to help Selby Hospital purchase recliners for in-patient rooms.
