The five-year "Today + Tomorrow Challenge" will match local annual fund donations, potentially generating $750,000 in total support and strengthening one of Marietta's signature cultural landmarks for years to come.

Washington County Fair opens with weekend in Marietta (newsandsentinel.com) — Marietta is gearing up for the 175th Washington County Fair this Labor Day weekend, with four days of parades, rides, livestock shows, harness racing, and a special anniversary laser show. Residents can enjoy nightly $1 roller skating, kid-focused attractions like DinoROAR and the Columbus Zoo, plus Monday's military appreciation and Tuesday's big Junior Fair livestock sale.
   

3. Marietta Levee Park and downtown Chauncey celebrate ribbon cuttings (wtap.com) — Marietta residents are invited to a ribbon-cutting at Marietta Levee Park on Tuesday, Sept. 8, at 10:30 a.m. to celebrate major riverfront improvements. The project rebuilt Ohio Street, upgraded accessibility, refreshed the amphitheater, and expanded the fountain, creating a more welcoming public space before a second celebration in Chauncey that afternoon.
   

4. Marietta College to host community event marking 25th anniversary of 9/11 (wtap.com) — Marietta College is inviting local residents to a community-wide 9/11 anniversary commemoration on Friday, Sept. 11, from 3 to 6 p.m. on campus. The open house will feature memorial displays, flags, and hands-on service projects like writing thank-you cards and assembling care packages to honor regional victims, veterans, and first responders.
   

5. News 31 Aug 2026 (washingtoncountysheriff.org) — Recent Washington County Jail intake records list several people from Marietta and nearby communities facing charges ranging from theft and falsification to public indecency, OVI, and drug offenses. The report covers arrests processed between August 26 and August 30, giving residents a snapshot of current criminal cases moving through the local system.
