Prison time for a head-on crash: Todd Baucher of WTAP reports that a Washington County man is going to prison for a deadly crash. Yesterday, Joseph Barnes of New Matamoras was sentenced for a 2019 crash where he went over the median and hit an elderly driver head on. That driver died. Barnes had been charged with OVI, and aggravated vehicular homicide. He will spend five-years in prison.

Etta Express is going to the NCAA Tournament: The Marietta College baseball team has just beaten Mount Union twice more. They beat them 8-7 in the first game and 3-2 in the second game. They are now 35-4 overall and they've guaranteed themselves a spot in the NCAA Tournament. They've also secured their 32nd OAC Tournament title in their history. The Pioneers will go into the tournament riding high on a 10-game winning streak.

Ohio vaccine lottery appears to be working: Andy Chow of the Statehouse News Bureau reports that the Ohio Department of Health is seeing vaccination numbers go up. There has been a noteworthy uptick in folks getting the jab since the state started offering their big money sweepstakes. The weekend before the announcement of the drawing they saw a drop of 25%, the weekend after they saw a 28% increase.

Ohio pandemic unemployment overpayments hit 2.1 billion dollars: The Associated Press reports that Ohio's human services agency says state and federal overpayments are out of control. They claim the state has paid out 2.1 billion dollars due to fraud and mistakes. These overpayments could be due to the payee error, employer error, or state error. Ohio is working on a waiver program to help those who recieved overpayments through no fault of their own.
